CAHPE3 works to create a network of national and local organizations that collaborate to prevent and reduce tobacco use and other cancer-related health disparities in the diverse Asian Americans, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) communities.
Geographic Health Alliance (CADCA)
Made up of a national network of coalitions, state programs, public health departments, national organizations, and researchers, the Geographic Health Equity Alliance identifies gaps in information, provides leadership and expertise, and promotes health interventions to reduce geographic health disparities surrounding cancer and tobacco-related risk factors.
American Lung Association’s Cessation TA Library (ALA)
The American Lung Association’s Cessation TA Library is an online repository of over 200 resources, toolkits, webcasts, podcasts and public health roadmaps to support tobacco cessation policy and health systems change integration at Lung.org/CessationTA. The Lung Association also collects data on State Medicaid programs’ coverage of tobacco cessation treatment. You can find your state’s data at Lung.org.
Tribal National Network Driving Action Program (Rocky Mountain Tribal Leaders Council)
The Rocky Mountain Tribal Leaders Council works to preserve our homelands, defend rights of the Indian Treaties with the United States, speak in a unified voice, offer support to our people, offer a forum in which to consult each other and enlighten each other about our peoples, and to otherwise promote the common welfare of all of the Indian Peoples of Montana, Wyoming and Idaho.
The Center for Black Health and Equity
The Center for Black Health & Equity (The Center) engages health care organizations, public health officials, faith leaders, and African American communities in health promotion and disease prevention work. Its mission is to facilitate programs and services to benefit communities and people of African descent by building community capacity, developing community infrastructure, and advocating for equity-centered policies.
North American Quitline Consortium (NAQC)
NAQC is an international, nonprofit membership organization committed to improving equitable access, use, and effectiveness of quitlines. NAQC is recognized as a trusted convener of cross-sector stakeholders and a leader in advancing data-driven, collaborative strategies that improve the impact of quitlines on population health. NAQC leads surveillance efforts and tailored training and technical assistance delivered to states, territories, and partner organizations. NAQC offers flexible options to partners seeking help for quitline and cessation-focused work, including individual support from NAQC subject matter experts, learning communities, webcasts, workgroups, data, and best practice guides. NAQC facilitates peer learning and networking through monthly e-newsletters, e-bulletins, and a Listserv where partners can exchange questions, resources, and success stories. NAQC’s website serves as a knowledge hub for quitline resources, including the quitline map (www.naquitline.org/page/mappage) detailing services in every quitline in North America. Current areas of TA focus include quitline capacity and sustainability, best and promising practices, strategies to increase quitline reach into populations experiencing disparities, and quitline research and evaluation.
Nuestras Voces Adelante (National Alliance for Hispanic Health)
The Nuestras Voces Adelante (Our Voices Moving Forward) Network Program partners with research institutions, academia, federal agencies, national voluntary agencies, community-based organizations, and expert collaborators that support our efforts to reduce the impact of tobacco-related and cancer-related health disparities on the nation’s health and well-being. NVA provides training and technical assistance on evidence-based and evidence-informed interventions and promising practices focused on tobacco and cancer prevention and control for Hispanics; technical assistance supporting the implementation of culturally proficient services, education, and materials development to expand the reach to Hispanic communities at the national, state, tribal, territorial, and local levels; and, technical assistance to develop and implement culturally proficient and language appropriate tobacco and cancer-control mass health communications and outreach campaigns and interventions.
National Behavior Health Network for Tobacco and Cancer Control (NBHN)
People with mental health conditions and substance use challenges are disproportionately impacted by commercial tobacco use, with rates two to four times higher than the general population. The National Behavioral Health Network for Tobacco and Cancer Control (NBHN) empowers health professionals to close the gap by providing resources and tools to integrate evidence-based, trauma-informed and person-centered approaches across systems and settings. Sexual and Gender Minority Cancer & Tobacco Network (National LGBT Cancer Network)
The Cancer Network is a national organization advancing health equity in cancer care and tobacco cessation for LGBTQI+ communities. We provide tailored technical assistance to public health agencies, healthcare providers, and community-based organizations to support the implementation of inclusive, affirming practices. Our support includes guidance on best practices, policy and materials review, workforce and training support, data and evaluation, and strategies to create welcoming environments. We also offer customizable cultural competency trainings for clinical and public health audiences. Through this work, we partner with tobacco control programs to strengthen their capacity to deliver equitable, patient-centered care and effectively engage LGBTQI+ communities.
SelfMade Health Network (Patient Advocate Foundation)
With a strategic focus on low-income populations, patients, and communities (including rural and metropolitan) nationwide, SelfMade Health Network (SMHN) is dedicated to improving cancer prevention, treatment, and survivorship as well as commercial tobacco prevention and cessation outcomes. Comprised of a national advisory council, partnerships, hub as well as network of state/county government agencies, health systems, academic institutions, and multi-sector organizations, SMHN provides free training/technical assistance and resources grounded in best/promising practices and evidence-based interventions designed to enhance strategic planning, capacity-building, community-clinical linkages (including health systems transformation) and health communications. National Network for Tobacco Control, Cancer Prevention and Health Equity for People with Disabilities (NACDD)
NACDD aims to lead a network dedicated to accelerating the reduction of commercial tobacco use and mitigating the incidence and mortality of tobacco-related cancers. This initiative will focus on prevention and control efforts tailored specifically for People with Disabilities, which includes veterans.
The Center for Public Health Systems Science at the WashU School of Public Health
The Center for Public Health Systems Science at the WashU School of Public Health is a recognized leader in policy and prevention, dissemination and implementation, and systems science. We provide services and technical assistance including program evaluation, sustainability assessment and planning, research and data analysis, plain language writing to share program successes, effective and accessible design, and research translation. We can help increase tobacco control program capacity, implement and evaluate strategies, and share successes with a variety of audiences.
