Please join the Public Health Law Center for a discussion on the landscape of hazardous tobacco product waste in New York State.
Attendees will learn about the risks of e-cigarette waste and options that communities might consider for dealing with hazardous e-cigarette waste. Our panelists include two local experts: Matt Gillette from the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, who will explain how hazardous waste disposal works in New York State, and what to know about obligations related to being a hazardous waste generator; and Stephen Peletz from the Monroe County Department of Environmental Services, who will describe the e-cigarette disposal process at the ecopark waste facility in Monroe County, New York. The panel will be moderated by Public Health Law Center staff attorney Zohal Khan.
