For years, the tobacco industry has flooded the consumer market with a wide variety of flavored tobacco products. This has contributed to a dangerous youth vaping epidemic and other concerning patterns of youth commercial tobacco initiation and use. Efforts at the federal level to address these trends have not been sufficient. As a result, states and local jurisdictions in the United States continue adopting their own sales restrictions of flavored commercial tobacco products.

The Public Health Law Center maintains a scan of states and localities (with populations over 75,000) that have adopted such laws, representing a variety of policy approaches with differing levels of adherence to best practices. In this 30-minute webinar, we will provide an overview of our most-recent nationwide scan of tobacco product flavor laws and how to navigate it. We will also introduce an interactive map that gives users a geographic visualization of these laws.
