Call Description: This is the fourth teleconference in the TCN Strategies for Smoke-Free Air Policy Implementation teleconference series addressing strategies and resources for implementing comprehensive smoke-free air policies. During this call participants will:

  • Learn about the Tobacco Control Network's special project "TCN Strategies for Smoke-Free Air Policy Implementation," aimed at strengthening and supporting state tobacco control programs in planning for and executing comprehensive statewide smoke-free air laws.
     
  • Learn about the Tobacco Technical Assistance Consortium's (TTAC) "Developing Smoke-free Implementation Regulations" (DSIR) project. This project consists of a series of online tools and a new website, including examples of effective state and local implementation regulations, model implementation language, public health rulemaking, and background on tobacco policy for lawyers. The DSIR project also includes technical assistance to support health departments and others in drafting implementation regulations and navigating the rulemaking process.
     
  • Hear lessons learned from colleagues with experience on smoke-free implementation rulemaking and regulations.
