State Policy

Georgia bans smoking and tobacco products on state university campuses (GA)Reuters. Tobacco use will be banned on all 31 campuses of Georgia's public colleges and universities, beginning next fall, including at outdoor football games. The state university system's Board of Regents voted for the ban on smoking and all tobacco products. The ban will include e-cigarettes.

New Jersey beach smoking ban proposal advances (NJ)Associated Press. A bill that would make all of New Jersey’s public beaches and parks smoke-free was approved by the state Assembly. The proposed law, A1080, would take effect six months after passage and carries fines of $250 for a first offense, $500 for a second offense, and $1,000 for subsequent offenses.
