Partner resources – 50th anniversary of the Surgeon General's report on smoking and health – U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Online banners, badges, infographics, and other resources are available to help tobacco control partners and advocates communicate the findings from the most recent Surgeon General’s report, The Health Consequences of Smoking – 50 Years of Progress.
Rethink Butts campaign resources for Earth Day – Legacy. Cigarette butts are the most littered item globally, leaching toxic chemicals and carcinogens that pollute the environment. Tobacco control advocates can use Earth Day on April 22 to call attention to the environmental impact of cigarette butts with resources, including TV and radio public service announcements that urge Americans to rethink the act of littering cigarette butts, a toolkit with ideas on ways to help stop toxic litter, and a fact sheet.
Prevent tobacco use: A CADCA toolkit – Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America (CADCA). This new toolkit provides coalitions and public health professionals guidance on how to implement tobacco use prevention strategies and sustain implemented strategies. The toolkit is based on CADCA’s 7 Strategies for Effective Community Change, and includes fact sheets, success stories, and several helpful tools such as a sample logic model, a sample smoke-free ordinance and sample intervention maps.
