CDC launches latest graphic anti-smoking campaign – HealthDay. On February 3, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) launched the 2014 phase of its Tips From Former Smokers campaign (Tips) TV, radio and print campaign. This campaign continues to depict the real consequences of smoking by featuring smokers like Terrie Hall, who passed away on September 26, 2013 of smoking related disease at the age of 53. New to this year's campaign will be an additional focus on smoking-related cancers, as well as the impact of cigarettes on the health of pregnant women and those with HIV.
