Deadline extended: Looking for real people to appear in ad campaign about the health effects of smoking cigarettes
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) Office on Smoking and Health is recruiting individuals to feature in the next wave of CDC’s national tobacco education campaign. The 2014 campaign will be similar to the recent Tips from Former Smokers ads, and will feature real people who have suffered health effects due to smoking. The CDC is recruiting individuals who have or have had colorectal cancer, periodontal diseases, or HIV, as well as women who are ex-smokers and have experienced a heart attack or lung cancer, smoked during their pregnancy and had experienced health complications as a result. Counter Tobacco's 2013 photo contest
Counter Tobacco has announced its second annual Photo Contest. Counter Tobacco, an organization working to counteract tobacco product sales and marketing at the point of sale, is asking individuals over the age of 13 to send in images of tobacco advertisements in their community, including advertisements found in and around gas stations as well as in convenience stores. The categories for entry include: greatest youth appeal; e-cigarettes; stores near schools; best map or infographic; funniest/most ironic; novel products; and, flavored little cigar/cigarillo.
