This one-and-a-half day interactive conference brings together professionals who design and deliver smoking cessation education programs to translate recent advances in both evidence and practice into action that will improve the frequency and effectiveness of smoking cessation interventions. The American Cancer Society sponsors the Great American Smokeout (GASO) event each year to encourage smokers to make a plan to quit, or to plan in advance and quit smoking that day. It will take place at the Stanford Sierra Conference Center in South Lake Tahoe, CA. The meeting is hosted by the Americans for Nonsmokers' Rights Foundation and sponsored in part by the American Heart Association, Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids, American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network, Legacy, and California’s Tobacco-Related Disease Research Program.
