Predictors of voluntary home-smoking restrictions and associations with an objective measure of in-home smoking among subsidized housing tenants – American Journal of Health Promotion. A cross-sectional survey of 301 government subsidized homes concluded that less than one-third (29.2%) of tenants had complete home-smoking restrictions (HSRs), while more than half (55.8%) had partial restrictions.
Newspaper coverage of implementation of the Michigan smoke-free law: Lessons learned – Health Promotion Practice. An investigation of 303 print and online articles covering Michigan’s statewide smoke-free law found that 75% of the articles contained at least one pro-law message, and 56% contained at least one anti-law message. Researchers concluded that public health departments and partners can impact the implementation of smoke-free laws by providing the public, businesses, and other stakeholders with clear and accurate reasons to support such legislation.
