The Emory Centers for Training and Technical Assistance, the Tobacco Technical Assistance Consortium (TTAC) and Diabetes Training and Technical Assistance Center (DTTAC), present the Logic Model Essentials web-based course, which is designed to provide an understanding of the purpose and features of a logic model, the skills and tools needed to build a logic model, and knowledge of the important ways to apply logic model results. During the course, participants will create a logic model for a health program of their choice. This course is beneficial to public health professionals starting a new program, planning an evaluation, or looking to strengthen a current program. The course will run from July 8 – August 16, 2013 (6 weeks), and the registration deadline has been extended to July 3, 2013. Click here for more details, or click here to register. This interactive, mentored distance-learning program provides participants with practical skills in a supportive environment through engaging learning experiences. There are no scheduled class meetings, allowing participants the flexibility to complete the coursework at their convenience.
Request for assistance with recruitment for new CDC Tips Campaign
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) Office on Smoking and Health is recruiting individuals to feature in the next wave of CDC’s national tobacco education campaign. This 2014 campaign will be very similar to the highly successful Tips From Former Smokers ads and enable CDC to highlight health conditions that weren’t yet featured in the previous Tips campaigns. Like the earlier Tips efforts, the 2014 campaign will feature real people who suffered severe health conditions caused directly by smoking or who have lost a family member from a smoking-related condition. Click here for more information about the types of people being recruited for the campaign and eligibility criteria, or click here to download the recruitment flyer in Spanish. Tobacco control partners are encouraged to share this request for assistance with partners, members, or constituents.
