America's Health Rankings 2013: Annual report highlights declines in smoking rates – United Health Foundation. America’s Health Rankings, an annual measure of the nation's health status, finds evidence that Americans made "a notable shift" toward better health in 2013. Among other findings, the report indicates a decline in the national adult smoking rate from 21.2% in 2012 to 19.6% in 2013, with 17 states showing a significant drop in their smoking rates.
