Food and Drug Administration Request for Proposals: Tobacco retail inspections
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has announced a new Request for Proposals (RFP) to assist in implementing the provisions of the Tobacco Control Act. The opportunity is for groups, other than states or territories, to facilitate its inspection of tobacco retailers. The recipient will secure the services of commissionable inspectors and then plan, coordinate, and otherwise provide logistical assistance to those inspectors as they complete assignments within a specific State or US Territory. While FDA has established enforcement contracts with 45 jurisdictions, FDA has issued this RFP in an effort to contract with the remaining 11 jurisdictions (Alaska, American Samoa, Florida, Nebraska, New York, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, US Virgin Islands, and Wyoming).
