Nominate a deserving colleague for Community Leadership Award
Legacy is accepting nominations for the 2013 Legacy Community Activist Award. The Community Activist Award recognizes an individual committed to tobacco prevention and cessation at the community level with an award for spearheading innovative and influential tobacco control projects. The winner will receive an honorarium of $2,500 as well as recognition through media outreach and Legacy publications. The deadline for nominations is September 17, 2013. 2013 nominations open - Unsung heroes of public health awards
The Campaign for Public Health has announced the Fourth Annual Unsung Heroes of Public Health Awards will take place on December 4, 2013. The award ceremony will feature three awards including: the Rock in the Pond Award, recognizing an individual for an outstanding work on a community-based or statewide public health effort; the Wavemaker Award, recognizing a visionary whose work on a large-scale multi-state, regional, national or international public health program has successfully impacted a major public health challenge; and the Excellence in Media Award, recognizing an individual who produced a widely-viewed media story focused on disease control and prevention.
