Call for nominations: American Lung Association and Koop Foundation, Inc. Unsung Heroes' Award
There are hundreds, perhaps thousands, of people diligently at work in the Tobacco Wars, fighting against the overwhelming financial superiority of Big Tobacco. They are frequently unrecognized in spite of their perseverance and major contributions to the anti-tobacco effort. They are indeed truly unsung heroes. It is the purpose of the Unsung Heroes' Award, presented jointly by the American Lung Association and the Koop Foundation, Inc., to recognize one of these individuals annually. The next award will be announced during the American Lung Association Awards Ceremony in Seattle, Washington, June 2011. Nominations are due March 11, 2011.
