On February 3, 2012, the University of California, San Francisco Center for Tobacco Control Research and Education is hosting its annual symposium, “It’s About a Billion Lives.” The symposium will bring together thought leaders from around the country to examine the latest implications of tobacco’s effects on health and policy. The symposium will also include a poster session displaying the breadth of tobacco research at UCSF. Through with Chew Week / Great American Spit Out

Now is the time to start planning for the upcoming Through With Chew Week, held February 19-25, 2012, with the Great American Spit Out on Thursday, February 23rd. Tobacco prevention advocates, healthcare providers, and other organizations can organize an educational event or a series of community activities and help raise awareness of the dangers of smokeless tobacco, especially among children and adolescents.
