Researchers find smoking is strongly associated with squamous cell carcinoma among women
A new study has found that smoking is strongly associated with one type of skin cancer among women. The researchers recruited patients with a history of basal and squamous cell carcinomas as well as controls with no history of cancer, and surveyed them on their smoking habits and other risk factors. The results show that smoking was associated with squamous cell carcinoma in women, but no significant association was observed with basal cell carcinoma.
