Webinar: Behavioral Health & Tobacco: The Final Frontier

The Smoking Cessation Leadership Center will co-host its next webinar on September 29, 2011, at 2:00-3:30 pm Eastern Time with the Association for the Treatment of Tobacco Use and Dependence (ATTUD). The webinar will include information on the effects of tobacco among people with addictions and/or mental health disorders; key findings from the ATTUD position paper on integrating tobacco treatment into behavioral health services; relationships among tobacco dependence, withdrawal, outcome and response to treatment; and specific action steps that can be taken to integrate tobacco treatment into behavioral health services. The next Health Education Council and Break Free Alliance (BFA) national tobacco control conference will take place April 17-18, 2012 in New Orleans. This will be BFA's third national tobacco control conference that focuses its efforts on reducing the burden of tobacco use in low socioeconomic status and ethnic/minority populations. The deadline to submit an abstract or scholarship application is approaching; submissions are being accepted through September 14, 2011.
