Webinar: Behavioral Health & Tobacco: The Final Frontier

The Smoking Cessation Leadership Center will co-host its next webinar on September 29, 2011, at 2:00-3:30 pm Eastern Time with the Association for the Treatment of Tobacco Use and Dependence (ATTUD). The webinar will include information on the effects of tobacco among people with addictions and/or mental health disorders; key findings from the ATTUD position paper on integrating tobacco treatment into behavioral health services; relationships among tobacco dependence, withdrawal, outcome and response to treatment; and specific action steps that can be taken to integrate tobacco treatment into behavioral health services. Promising Practices to Eliminate Tobacco-Related Disparities: The Power of Communities

The next Health Education Council and Break Free Alliance (BFA) national tobacco control conference will take place April 17-18, 2012 in New Orleans. This will be BFA's third national tobacco control conference that focuses its efforts on reducing the burden of tobacco use in low socioeconomic status and ethnic/minority populations. The deadline to submit an abstract or scholarship application is approaching; submissions are being accepted through September 14, 2011.
