World Cancer Day

Each year on February 4th, the World Health Organization (WHO) joins with the sponsoring International Union Against Cancer to promote ways to ease the global burden of cancer. Preventing cancer and raising quality of life for cancer patients are recurring themes. Cancer is a leading cause of death around the world, and WHO estimates that 84 million people will die of cancer between 2005 and 2015 without intervention. The National Native Commercial Tobacco Abuse Prevention Network’s Regional Conference

This regional conference is an excellent event for anyone who is working in tobacco control and prevention with American Indian/Alaskan Native populations. There will be four educational tracks that attendees may focus on: utilizing best practices in tobacco control with the option of focusing on health communication or youth prevention, impacting health systems intended for allied health professionals who provide direct patient care, epidemiology and data use intended for tribal data managers and those who have fielded the AI-ATS, and a youth track that is only available for youth and will be taught on April 21st only.
