Call for proposals:  2009 NACDD Chronic Disease Academy
The National Association of Chronic Disease Directors (NACDD) has issued a Call for Proposals for educational activities to be presented at the 2009 NACDD Chronic Disease Academy, to be held March 25 – 27, 2009 in Seattle, Washington.  The Academy will provide skill building training activities designed to increase the knowledge, skills and abilities of chronic disease practitioners at the local, regional and state levels.  Training will be presented in five tracks:  Program Design and Evaluation, Policy and Systems Change, Strategic Leadership, Program Management, and Research and Best Practice Utilization in the workplace. Call for nominations: The Luther L. Terry Awards for Exemplary Leadership in Tobacco Control
The American Cancer Society announces the opening of the call for nominations of the Luther L. Terry Awards for Exemplary Leadership in Tobacco Control. Named for the late United States Surgeon General Luther L. Terry, M.D., the awards recognize outstanding worldwide achievement in the field of tobacco control. The awards will be presented at the 14th World Conference on Tobacco OR Health, in Mumbai, India in March 2009. The 2009 awards will be presented for Outstanding Community Service, Outstanding Individual Leadership, Outstanding Organization, Outstanding Research Contribution, Exemplary Leadership by a Government Ministry, and Distinguished Career.
