Some U.S. retailers and tobacco part ways
Several states and localities are working to ban tobacco sales at pharmacies. The rationale behind these retail limitations is that pharmacies should sell health-promoting products, rather than harmful products. New Hampshire, Illinois, and Tennessee are aiming to ban tobacco sales at pharmacies with walk-in health clinics, while San Francisco and New York are considering new laws that would make it illegal for any drugstores to sell tobacco products. The San Francisco law would apply to drugstores with pharmacists, but not to big box stores or grocery stores. Click here for more details.
