Kick Butts Day 2008

Kick Butts Day (KBD) is a day of nationwide youth activism organized by Tobacco Free Kids.org with over 2000 events to get young people to “Stand Out, Speak Up, and Seize Control in the fight against tobacco.” The website includes information on how to get started, how to promote KBD events, and an activity guide which suggests events that can be held to celebrate KBD. Promising Practices from the Field: Tobacco Control Strategies that Work!

This conference is sponsored by National African American Tobacco Education Network (NAATEN) and the National Network on Tobacco Prevention and Poverty (NNTPP). The conference will highlight successful tobacco prevention, education, and cessation strategies that reach African American and low socioeconomic status (SES) communities. Also, the conference offers a forum to connect and network with colleagues from diverse systems doing similar work in order to expand the reach of tobacco control efforts.
