TTAC Fundamentals of Evaluation Web-based Course – Open Registration
September 2-November 21, 2008
The Fundamentals of Evaluation Web-based course is an interactive learning experience using visual aids, group discussion, self-assessments, and individual learning activities. Participants apply concepts presented in the lessons to build their evaluation skills.  The Fundamentals of Evaluation course starts September 2, 2008 and continues for 12 weeks, ending on November 21, 2008. The course contains 7 modules; each module is covered in two weeks, and each module requires a commitment of between 3 and 5 hours for learning activities.  The deadline for registration is August 18, 2008. 6th Annual National LGBTQ Anti-Tobacco Summit: Be A Movement, Not A Market

This 6th annual conference “Be A Movement, Not A Market” will attract LGBTQ and tobacco control leaders from across the country. The conference will give participants opportunities to learn best practices, network with tobacco control leaders, share lessons learned, and make plans to improve LGBTQ health. African American Tobacco Control Conference: A Community Under Siege: The State of Black California and Tobacco Use

The California Department of Public Health (CDPH), California Tobacco Control Program (CTCP) is pleased to invite you to this important conference themed “A Community Under Siege: The State of Black California and Tobacco Use”. It will be held on September 26, 2008 at the Hilton Los Angeles Airport Hotel. The purpose of the conference is to increase awareness and understanding of the impact of tobacco use in the African American community and to call the community to action toward reducing tobacco-related disease and mortality. 5th National Summit on Smokeless and Spit Tobacco

The 5th National Summit on Smokeless and Spit Tobacco is designed to support health care professionals, public health and policy professionals, tobacco treatment specialists, scientists, physicians, dentists, dental hygienists, state and federal tobacco prevention and control administrators, tobacco program staff and advocates who have an interest in smokeless and spit tobacco.  The Summit is the primary forum professionals in the smokeless tobacco field have to come together to learn of best practices, share success stories, hear about prevention and cessation approaches that work, and become aware of the latest research in the field.  It also provides these professionals a specific opportunity to network with their colleagues nationally and internationally.  The Summit is pleased to announce that the following organizations have already agreed to serve as sponsors: Children's Hospital of Wisconsin, which will serve as the exclusive sponsor of the summit reception; Wisconsin Tobacco Prevention and Control Program; and the Wyoming Department of Health.  The Summit website will be online soon; in the meantime, call or email Chris DeIuliis (800-633-1442 or deiuliis@uwosh.edu) for more information.
