African American Tobacco Control Conference: A Community Under Siege: The State of Black California and Tobacco Use

The California Department of Public Health (CDPH), California Tobacco Control Program (CTCP) is pleased to invite you to this important conference themed “A Community Under Siege: The State of Black California and Tobacco Use”. It will be held on September 26, 2008 at the Hilton Los Angeles Airport Hotel. The purpose of the conference is to increase awareness and understanding of the impact of tobacco use in the African American community and to call the community to action toward reducing tobacco-related disease and mortality. 5th National Summit on Smokeless and Spit Tobacco

The 5th National Summit on Smokeless and Spit Tobacco is designed to support health care professionals, public health and policy professionals, tobacco treatment specialists, scientists, physicians, dentists, dental hygienists, state and federal tobacco prevention and control administrators, tobacco program staff and advocates who have an interest in smokeless and spit tobacco. The Summit is the primary forum professionals in the smokeless tobacco field have to come together to learn of best practices, share success stories, hear about prevention and cessation approaches that work, and become aware of the latest research in the field. It also provides these professionals a specific opportunity to network with their colleagues nationally and internationally. The Summit is pleased to announce that the following organizations have already agreed to serve as sponsors: Children's Hospital of Wisconsin, Delta Dental of Wisconsin, the Wisconsin Tobacco Prevention and Control Program, and the Wyoming Department of Health.
