California Anti-Smoking TV Commercial Contest Deadline Extended
The State of California has extended its deadline to January 10, 2008 for its TV commercial contest. To enter, Californians must create a 30-second video promoting the State’s anti-smoking message. For more information on the contest, click here. Public voting will take place at the contest’s website during February.

- Public Health Prevention Service (PHPS) program
This Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC) program is requesting applications from public health agencies for 2-year field assignments in program management for 24 Prevention Specialists of the 2007 PHPS class. Field assignments will begin October 2008 and end two years later in October 2010. The PHPS program is a 3-year training and service program for postgraduate masters-level professionals interested in careers in public health management. - Judy Wilkenfeld Award for International Tobacco Control Excellence
This award will be given to the international advocate who has both contributed the most to the battle to reduce tobacco use and done the most to bring people together and inspire others to support these efforts.
