National African American Tobacco Prevention Network:
Grants for Youth Prevention, Cessation, and Education
The National African American Tobacco Prevention Network has announced a grant
program designed to help youth-based community groups make strides in African-American
youth tobacco prevention, cessation, or education. Twenty grants of $2,500.00
each will be awarded to groups who submit a creative, well-thought-out plan focusing
on these areas. Applications will be funded for the period of January 15 through
March 15, 2007. Applications must be received by December 22, 2006. An
announcement of the awards will be made by January 4, 2007. For information including

Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Minnesota Center for Prevention:
Statewide Technical Assistance Contract for Priority Population
Coalitions Implementing Tobacco Prevention Programs
Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Minnesota’s Center for Prevention
has announced a new request for funding proposal. Intent
to Apply notices must be postmarked by December 15, 2006
and proposals must be postmarked by February 8, 2007. More
information about the statewide technical assistance contract,

Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids: Youth Advocates
of the Year Awards
The Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids is now accepting applications
for their Youth Advocates of the Year Awards. Winners receive
both scholarship and grant money. The deadline for submission
is February 2, 2007. To find out more information about the
