Tobacco Policy Change: A Collaborative for Healthier Communities and States is a national initiative of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation that provides resources and technical assistance for local, statewide and regional organizations and tribal groups to advocate for effective tobacco prevention and cessation policy change. The goals of the program are to:

  • Support innovative projects that can change tobacco policy through partnerships with or collaboration among groups most affected by tobacco use.
  • Maintain tobacco policy gains and momentum in communities, states and regions.
  • Strengthen and diversify the state and national tobacco policy change infrastructure.

Applicant organizations are required to have significant experience in policy advocacy; however, prior experience in tobacco prevention and cessation is not required to be eligible for RWJF funding.

This is the second round of competitive grant application cycles under this program. Grants will be 12 months in duration. Please refer to the call for proposals for eligibility criteria and match requirements.
