Local Ordinances for
Smoke- or Tobacco-Free Parks/Playgrounds – 10/11/06
Q: Could the TCN members share samples of
local ordinances or resolutions enacted in their state which
have established smoke free or tobacco free parks/playgrounds?
(The requestor has the manual for California, so they don’t
need samples of model ordinances.)
A:
- Alabama: On our website,
click on the policy tracking system tab. Under municipal
tobacco control ordinances use the drop down box to find
the city of Hueytown. Hueytown has an ordinance (2005) that
restricts tobacco use in city parks.
- Minnesota: We have many, many samples
of park policies and ordinances posted on our website.
