Event/training services RFPs – 3/4/11

Q: The Iowa Department of Public Health contracts with an event planning and training coordination firm for planning and staffing of IDPH-sponsored conferences and trainings.  This includes securing event sites and subcontracting for all necessary event support (meals, lodging, paid speakers, AV support, etc.), managing registration (on-line and on-site), and arranging for CEUs.  We are currently in the process of developing an RFP to solicit applications for these services for the coming three years.  Have other states developed an RFP or contracts for similar services and would they be willing to share those with Iowa?

A:

1. Alabama: We do not use this system in Alabama, so I'm afraid we do not have a RFP to share with Iowa.
    
2. Oregon: In response to Iowa's request for sample RFPs for event and logistic coordinators, see attached for a recent RFP from Oregon. In Oregon, we have been working with an events/logistics contractor for several years.
    
3. Utah: The last time we issued a training RFP was 2006. A sample is attached.
